Jarrett Bickett Bass

Jarrett Bickett Bass, of Sweetwater, TN, graduated to Glory on October 21, 2017 at the UAMS Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas. He joined his precious grandson, Noah Jarrett, Mother and Dad, Annie (Small) & Bickett Bass, and Mother & Father-In-Law, Mary Linn (Isaacs) & Fred Presswood, Jr. His greatly missed best friend, Roger Bishop, was waiting at Heaven’s Gates with open arms to welcome him home. Jarrett is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Presswood Bass, his son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Mary Beth Bass, and grand-children, Dylan and Reese Bryant. Also, his sisters and brothers in law, Elaine (Bass) and Tim Buchanan; and Jeanie (Bass) and Giles (Buster) Foxx. Sister in law, Carroel Ann (Presswood) Edgmon. Special ‘adopted daughter’ and close friend, Tammy Kincannon. Nieces: Paige (Edgmon) Best of Sweetwater; April (Foxx) Parker; Aimee (Buchanan) Kenney; Amorette (Buchanan) Lilley, all of the Charlotte, NC Metro Area. Nephews: Scott Buchanan; Jonathan Foxx, Robert Lilley, John Kenney all of the Charlotte, NC Metro Area. Scott Edgmon & Bryan Edgmon of Sweetwater. Several very loved cousins, and great nieces and nephews. As well as all of his TVA Sequoyah and Watts Bar Work Families. And of course, their ‘Fur Babies’, Jill, Bella, PC, Miley, and Hank. Jarrett was a Veteran of the United State Navy, and a proud, patriotic American! He served during the Viet Nam War Era. A devoted Christ follower, he had a heart for missions and the people he met on Mission Trips in Puebla, Mexico for 2 years before being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. He loved his church of 14 years, First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, and all his precious friends there. One of his greatest joys in life was packing multiple Shoe Boxes each year to help share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children throughout the world. A celebration of Jarrett’s Life will be Sunday, October 29, 2017, 2 PM EST at First Baptist Church, 303 Wright Street, Sweetwater, TN 37874, with Dr. Frank Crawford, and Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating. Interment following with military honors. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 28, Kyker Funeral Home Chapel, 113 W North St., Sweetwater TN, 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.EST. The Family is asking each person that is attending his service or visitation to write down a defining moment in your life with Jarrett or when you think of him, what is your first thought?
