Edith Carter Wakefield

Edith Marie Byrum Carter Wakefield was born April 13, 1935 and departed this life for her eternal home on January 4, 2016. She attended Vonore Full Gospel Church and was a life-long resident of Monroe County. She will always be remembered for wonderful attitude and friendliness to everyone. She was 80 years old. Proceeded in death by her husband of 10 years Claude Wakefield, her husband of 44 years Frank “Buck” Carter, son Freddy Carter, grandson Teddy Reagan, sisters Elizabeth Byrum & Callie Byers and parents Homer and Belle Byrum. She will be sadly missed by sons and their wives Kenneth & Misty Carter of Sweetwater, Jerry Carter of Sweetwater and fiancee Lisa Sloan. Daughters and their husbands Virgie & Danny Ramsey of Cleveland, Marie & the late Johnny Lovingood of Sweetwater, Evelyn & CJ McDougal of Benton and Christine & Kenny Ramsey of Sweetwater. Grandsons and their wives Joe Reagan and girlfriend Latresha Coons of Madisonville, Gary & Marlena Miller of Benton, William & Elizabeth Ramsey of Sweetwater, James & Lindsey McDougal of Benton. Brother and sister-in-law Charles “Bud” and Mary Byrum of Marietta GA. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 1 PM. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Forkner Chapel United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow with Dr. Andrew Templeton and Rev.
