Eva Harmon Easter Huffine

Huffine, Eva Harmon Easter, 86, 0f Sweetwater, joined her family and friends in heaven on Saturday, April 22, 2006. She passed away at Wood Presbyterian Home, Sweetwater, after an extended illness. (Mom had lived at 311 Young Drive, Sweetwater, prior to July 2005.) She was born on December 22, 1919 to the Late John and Lillie Jenkins Harmon of Harriman. Over her lifetime she lived in Harriman, Loudon and Knoxville. After her 'first' retirement from the food service industry she moved to Sweetwater to be closer to her daughter, Vicki Easter Click. She has now been united with her beloved husband, Rupert Huffine. Mom had a beautiful voice and is now singing in the heavenly choir with her parents, her sisters Louise Love and Mildred Thornton and brothers Joe Harmon and Roy Harmon. Mom leaves three children who will cherish the many wonderful memories of their childhood.friends were always at our house, the family meals she prepared (she could cook everything!); the kind heart she had for others and the good deeds she did for her family, especially for the elderly and shut-ins. Her sons and daughter-in-law are Bob Easter, Jr., Lenoir City and John David (Deeder) and Elaine Easter, Loudon. Her daughter and son-in-law are Vicki and Jack Click, Sweetwater. Mom is also survived by six wonderful grandchildren, Terri Click Sloan and Steve, Madisonville; Johnna Easter, Knoxville; Jay Easter and wife Julie, Lenoir City; Bobby Easter,III, Sweetwater; Brad Easter, California and Matthew Easter, Loudon. Mom leaves seven Easter great-grandchildren: Tanner, Erica, Rachel, Callie, Morgan, Austin and Mason. Mom has a stepson in California, Lee Huffine. Mom is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law Ruby Langley Hendrickson, Harriman and Sue and Bill Bell, Hermitage and her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Martha Harmon, Lebanon, Mom is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Church affiliation was always very important to Mom. As a child and young woman she was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Harriman; as a young Mother, she and her children were members of the First Baptist Church, Loudon; when she moved to Knoxville she and Rupert became members of the Farragut Christian Church and her final church membership was at Christ Presbyterian Church, Sweetwater. When Mom moved to Sweetwater she knew she wanted to continue to give to others so she worked with the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service as supervisor for Monroe County helping the elderly and disabled maintain their independence as long as possible. (It's so ironic the last nine months of Mom's life was spent at Wood Presbyterian Home. We are thankful to the staff who helped care for Mom during her illness.) Mom was a cancer survivor with a beautiful spirit who faced life and death with a positive outlook. When Mom was well she enjoyed U.T. football and politics. She was an inspiration to so many and will be remembered as a sweet, kind and beautiful lady. The family will receive friends 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, April 24, at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater. Funeral service will be held at Kyker's Chapel on Tuesday, April 25, at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Home in charge of the arrangement.
