Glendora D. Tweed

Glendora Daniels Johnson Tweed passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at her home in Kingston. She didn’t want her age told. She would say, “if you told your age, you would tell anything.” She was born in Harriman, TN to George and Susa Daniels. Glendora was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and later years Trenton Street Baptist Church. Her long career with Southern Bell, South Central Bell, Bell South and AT&T, was a source of pride to her. The friends she made there was a treasure she always cherished. She was a member of many organizations: Oak Ridge Women’s Club, Bell South Pioneers and the Red Hat to mention a few. She loved to shop, dance, travel and enjoy life to the fullest. Many of her fondest memories are of her numerous trips. She was a collector of friends-young and old. Never hesitating to speak her mind and those who know her, knew she would say “that’s just the way I am.” Glendora lived her life with flair and sparkle. She was preceded in death by the love of her life husband of 32 years George Johnson, her beloved second husband Earl Tweed with whom she shared some of the best years. “Many women don’t get one good man, I had two” was one of the reminders she freely shared. Family who preceded her in death are, parents George and Susa Bullard Daniels, sister Jean Smith Forgione (William “Red” Smith), brother Ed Daniels and wife (Adaline), brother-in-law Carl E. Diggs, mother and father-in-law Margaret and Claude Johnson. Glendora is survived by her daughter Glenda Johnson White and son-in-law Greg White, sister Caroline Diggs, grandchildren by marriage, Jason Wolfenbarger (Stacy), Stefani Wolfenbarger Pemberton (Kendrick), Terri Eubanks Schmitt (Gary), Susie Eubanks Boreman (Mark), Gloria Eubanks Thicke (Kevin), Jason White (Emily) and Jennifer White Kitts (Kris). Nieces and nephews: Cynthia Smith Walker (Jerry), Stephanie Smith Walker (Frank), Greg Smith (Elissa), Ricky Daniels (Debbie), Jaylene Daniels Baisley, Brad Diggs (Karen), Travis Diggs (Shanda), Christi Diggs Townsend, Chad Diggs (Cassandra). Exceptional friends Gerry Ensey, Ginny Malling, Virginia Brock, Faye McCartt, Patsy Baker and Polly Backburn. Special thank you and much appreciation to the nurses and staff of Jamestowne Assisted Living who loved the “Queen” dearly and Amedysis Hospice of Sweetwater. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Kyker Chapel, Reverend Mike Winters officiating. Burial 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 in Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Tweed Family.
