Henrilynn W. Johnson

Henrilynn W. Johnson was born on 10/04/1906 in Anniston, Alabama to Lula (Boggs) and E. Julius Williams Sr.. She was predeceased by her siblings, brothers E. Julius Jr., Charles F., Fuscha, and sister Sarah E. Crook. Henrilynn married Earl D. Johnson (Sr.) 1942 in Allegheny County, and from this union Geraldine C. (Johnson) Jones and Earl D. Jr. were born. Henrilynn enjoyed music, and for many years, sang in the Treble Clef Choir of Pittsburgh. She was very active in Bidwell Presbyterian Church, while she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker. During her lifetime, she held many offices and is a life-time member of the Adah Chapter #4, order of the Eastern Stars of Pittsburgh PA. (previously called Ruth Chapter #10). She also worked for a short while for the Chadwick Community Center of Pittsburgh. From the early 1940’s to Sept. 2003, Henrilynn lived at 6534 Deary Street, Pittsburgh, PA. 15206. Henrilynn continued to interact with her family, enjoying reasonably good health after her husband Earl D. Sr. passed in 1990. With the onset of deteriorating health, Henrilynn relocated to Harriman, Tennessee to live with her daughter Geraldine Jones. In March of 2005 it was necessary that she be cared for at the Harriman Care and Rehab. in Harriman, TN. where she has received the Oldest Mother Award for 2007 and 2008. Until recently, she played the piano for her own enjoyment. Henrilynn was called home to be with the Lord on March 9-2009 at 9:30 PM. She leaves to morn her passing, her devoted daughter, Geraldine C. Jones, her loving son Earl D. Jr. his wife, M. Kay, six grandchildren – Bernard H. Jones Jr., Hylene (Charles) Pankey and Cornell D. (Toya) Jones, Brian K. (Trish) Johnson, Kevin B. (Beth) Johnson, & Aaron D. (Debora) Johnson, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Sister-in-law Edith Williams, niece Barbara Bauknight, Grand Niece April Bauknight-Whitney, her cousins James (Bubba) Boggus of Cleveland, OH., Ella Walker of Anniston, AL, and Mary Armstrong of Clovis, CA. and a host of friends and former Pittsburgh neighbors. Interment will be at Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.
