James “Jim” Millard Rose Jr age 55 of Sweetwater TN formerly of Coker Creek TN passed away on June 23,2025 at Parkwest Medical Facility surrounded by his loving family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1989-1997. He was an avid fisherman, Harley Davidson enthusiast, chicken farmer, prankster, and beekeeper. He was a great father, husband, brother, and friend to all he knew and loved. He worked at JTEKT for over 19 years as a machine technician and worked at Genera Energy from 2021-2023. His love for God, family, and life was well known by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father James Millard Rose of Coker Creek TN, his first wife Susan Moses Rose, and two sons Joseph Moses and Jacob Rose of Sweetwater TN. He is survived by his wife of five years Bobbie Jo Lawson Rose formerly of Scott County TN, Son Isaiah Potter of Scott County TN, daughter Lily Ann Rose Potter Pisz and Husband Isaac Pisz of Sweetwater TN, and grandson Nikko James Pisz of Sweetwater TN, daughter Scarlett Eleanor Keith of Sweetwater TN. His mother Joan Gail Hill of Coker Creek, Sisters Linda Rose Harris and Husband Jimmy of Tellico, Kelly Rose Hawk and husband Matthew of Coker Creek, Carla Hill Kurkendall and husband Dan of Gastonia North Carolina, brother Keith Hill and wife Peggy Jurek of Antioch TN. Brother Logan Hill of TN. His father-in-law and mother-in-law Benny and Barbara Lawson of Scott County TN. Sister in laws and brothers in laws: Jo Ann Foster and husband: Michael, Betty Jo Reed and husband: Alan, Josette Lawson and husband: Buck Turner. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Altoona Baptist Church in Tellico Plains from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Eddie Kelly officiating. Interment to follow in the Coker Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided the United States Army and members of the Sweetwater V.F.W. Gold Star Post 5156.
