James E. Presley

James E. Presley age 87 of Sweetwater went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home, where he was lovingly cared for by his wife whom he called his angel. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. James was a veteran of WW II Army Air Corp. He served in the South Pacific with the 13th Bomber Command. James participated in the liberation of the Phillipines and the Battle for New Guinea. Private 1st class James E. Presley was honorably discharged. James’s first love was for his family, followed by his love for gardening, fishing and hunting. Preceded in death by parents; Ben and Rose Presley, brothers; Bill, Frank, and Austin Presley ,sisters; Agnes Miller and Barbara Kyker. Survivors: Wife of 68 years; Louise G. Presley, Daughters and sons-in-law: Jo Luter and husband Ed of Spring, TX., Linda Hallmark and husband Jim of Indian Rocks Beach, FL., Kay Smith and husband Romaine of Spring, TX., Cathy Ryden and husband Karl of League City, TX., son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy Presley and wife Kim of Hagerstown, Maryland, grandchildren and spouse: Tina and Mark Waters of Charlotte, N.C., Tami Luter of Nashville, TN., Josh Luter of Houston, Denice and Frank Walther of Wesley Chapel, FL., Chad and Aimee Hallmark of League City, TX., Jason and Rebecca Hallmark of Singapore, Jeff Smith of San Diego, California, Brent and Vilma Smith of Tomball, TX., Kim and Kevin Allen, Montgomery, TX., Stacey and Justin Ostrom of Manvel, TX., Karl and Spring Ryden of League City, TX., Graham and Jennifer Ryden of League City, TX., Tyler Presley of Dallas, TX., Ry an Presley of Oklahoma City, OK., Casi Presley, Dillon Presley both of Hagerstown, Maryland, great-grandchildren: Jake and Colin Waters, Frankie and Hunter Walther, CJ, Cooper and Dylan Hallmark, Kaitlin and Kolby Allen, Luke and Jacqueline Smith, Chase Mackenize, Carter Ostrom, Kennedy and Tyler Ryden, Bryce, Marek and Madison Ryden, brothers; Girt Presley and Carl Presley, sister; Goldie Epperson. The body is at Sweetwater Memory Chapel where the family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral to follow at 8:00 PM in Sweetwater Memory Chapel with Don Wilson officiating. Graveside service and Interment Friday, 11:00 AM in Sweetwater Memorial Park, military honors provided by the Sweetwater Gold Star Post 5156 and the Monroe County Disabled Veterans Chapter 93.
