Mamie Thompson Davis

Mamie Thompson Davis was born November 30, 1913 in Jefferson County, GA. to Frank and Mamie Thompson, who already had 3 sons. Around the age of 2 years old her mother passed and her father married Jessie Bell Hobbs. This marriage added to the family 2 sisters and 1 brother making a complete number, seven. Miss Mamie, affectionately called Mamma Mamie by many, has always been hardworking, giving and loving. Her desire to have children of her own was shown to every little boy or girl she came into contact with. Her gifts and talents in homemaking and cooking proved very rewarding and enjoyable, by all whoever had the priviledge to eat at her place of employment, visit her home or her church. Miss Mamie served the Lord Jesus Christ by being a daily example of kindness, thankfulness, and unconditional love to her fellow man. She was no respecter of persons and her friends included all God’s creatures. The love of her life was her husband, and as a Godly wife should she highly esteemed Mr. Willie even when dementia had appeared. God in his Wisdom blessed them mightily by allowing neither one to suffer the pain of separation. Not even death has parted them. Mamie and Willie entered heaven the same day. We the family are forever grateful and thankful to the wonderful persons who were care givers in her last days. You served so willingly with love, expecting nothing in return. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30pm Tuesday at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
