Martha Gwendolyn Henry

Martha Gwendolyn Henry, age 86, of Paint Rock, Tennessee, was ushered into Heaven surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 30, 2023, exactly 15 days after her loving husband Wayne passed away. Wayne and Gwen were members of Cedar Fork Church for 70 years. She was the sweetest, kindest God-fearing lady that God ever created. Gwen was born to Joe and Alva Maggard, Sr. in Hazzard, Kentucky. Gwen was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 70 years: Wayne C. Henry; her parents: Joe and Alva Maggard, Sr.; her brothers: Joe Maggard, Jr., Bill Maggard, infant twin brothers: Ronald and Donald Maggard; sisters: Lou Sturgill, Love McCray, and Deed Mason; granddaughter: Julie Henry Survivors include her children: Dewey (Eva) Henry, Shirley (Ron) Harden, Billy (Carolyn) Henry; grandchildren: Dana McSpadden (Charles), Danny Ashburn (Pam), Tonya Wallis (Tim), James Henry (Courtney), Tony Henry; great-grandchildren: Whitney Torbett (Jacob) Kayla Lee (Ty), Alex Thomason (Sara-Beth), Lindsey Peak (Matt), Maddie Wallis, Karley Wallis, great-great-grandchildren: Thomas Henry, Lilly Henry, Madison Peak, Makenzie Peak, Beau Torbett, Callum Torbett, Cade Lee, and Tucker Thomason; brother: Moses Maggard (Rosemary); sisters-in-law: Eloise Henry and Marie Bettis, brother-in-law: Clay Henry; along with several nephews, nieces, and bonus granddaughter: Kayla Watson. The family would like to extend special thanks to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friend and neighbor: Margaret Clark. Thanks to Dr. Shamblin, Rhonda Maggard, Courtney Henry; special care givers: Joan Holt, Jean Bettis, Janet Thompson, and the staff at Adoration Hospice Group. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Cedar Fork Baptist Church from 12 (noon) until 2p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2p.m. with Rev. Clayton Dunsmore, Rev. Tim Watson, and Rev. George Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, oversees the arrangements. Pallbearers will be James Henry, Thomas Henry, Alex Thomason, Mose Maggard, Allen Henry, Tim Wallis, Tony Henry, Bryan Carter, Ethan Carter and Jimmy Maddox; Honorary pallbearers: Chester Johnson, Robert Bettis, Peanut Davidson, Gary Maggard, Dwight Holt, Ron Harden, Danny Ashburn, Daniel Duckett, Brandon Watson, and Ronald Ivy.
