Mary Jane Clark

Mary Jane Clark, 80, of Harriman passed away December 9, 2009 at her home after a long battle with lung disease. Jane worked 20 years in the hosiery business at both Harriman Hosiery Mill and Roane Hosiery Mill. After leaving the mills she went into the food service working at local eateries such as the Snow King drive-in, White Way Restaurant, and better known for her service at Chase Drug luncheonette, where she worked for 6 years. She left the luncheonette after its second fire and was not reopened. She found her niche at Johnson’s Nursing Home, currently Harriman Care and Rehab. She spent 16 years providing compassionate and meticulous care to the elderly. She was well known for care and often passed on her knowledge and opinion. There was only one way to do it - The Right Way - Her Way! In her retirement she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, working puzzles, and spending time in the mountains with her sister, Margaret. She was of the Baptist faith. Although she had not been able to attend church regularly in many years, she continued to read and study her bible faithfully for her journey home to peace. She is proceeded in death by her father, Ben Tuck and her loving mother, Lillie Briggs Tuck. Her sisters, Frances Tuck Kellar and Roxanna Tuck Gilmore. Her brothers Virgil Tuck, Sam Tuck, and Charles Frank Tuck. Nieces Barbara Feliciano, Charlotte Tuck, Priscilla Fairchild. Nephews Tommy Tuck, Maynard Tuck, Virgil Tuck, and Robert Tuck. She is survived by two siblings, Martin Tuck, 93, of Akron, Ohio and Margaret Tuck Johnson Morrow, 88, of LaFollette, TN. Her children and their spouses, Frances and Herbert Spray, Nashville, Dana Seiber, Kingston, Melva and Tommy Boyd, Rockwood, Richard Clark, Mobile, Alabama, and Judith and Jerry Clark, Kingston. Her grandchildren, Kalli Doyle, Misty Davis, and Amanda Gunter, Kingston, Miranda Boyd, Rockwood, Jasper Boyd, Harriman, Fern Crutchfield, Jennifer Spray, Sasha Lewis, Nashville, Jessica Magill and Jeffrey Magill, Mobile, Alabama. Known affectionately as GG (Granny Great) by her great grandchildren, Heather Doyle, Kaitlyn Davis, Sara Gunter, Elisha Gunter, Kingston, Dylan Doyle, Puryear, TN., Clayton Bright, Rockwood, and Nikki Crutchfield, Ashton Crutchfield, Mackenzie Lewis, Nashville. She was anxiously awaiting two new arrivals in 2010. She is also survived by 14 nephews, 5 nieces, and 8 cousins. Funeral 8 PM Friday at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman with Rev. Mason Goodman officiating. Interment 1 PM Saturday at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman.
