OBITUARY STOCKTON, NELLIE age 92 lifelong resident of Sweetwater went to be with the Lord on Wed. June 3, 2009. She was a faithful servant of Christ, Mother and Grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mark & Berti Gabrel of Niota. Husband: George Ralph Stockton. Son: Rev. Bill Stockton. Brothers: Kenneth Gabrel, Ernest Gabrel and Alvie Gabrel. Sisters: Christine Presley, Edith McNabb & Gladys Miller. Survivors include: Daughter: Millie Garland & Son in law Jim Garland of Decatur, TN. Son: Bob R. Stockton of Cleveland, TN. Daughter: Margie Crisp of Cleveland, TN. A daughter in law: Mary Nell Stockton of Athens, Tn. Sisters: Helen Carrol of Athens and Reba Willet of Sweetwater. Brothers: Rev. D.L. Gabrel of Sweetwater, Lynn Gabrel of Niota & Gilly Gabrel of Washington State. 11 Grandchildren: Tommy Stockton, Rick McCullough, Donna McCullough, James Harris. Micheal Crisp, Pamela Wolf, Janet Stockton, Candice York, Bobby Stockton, Billy Stockton and Chris Morrow. 15 Great-Grandchildren and 11Great Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and special friends. She was a dedicated member of North Sweetwater Baptist Church for more then 40 years and taught Sunday school for 25 years. She retired from Sweetwater Hosiery Mill after 40 yrs of service. She loved music and took great delight in the musical accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was with the Wiggins Quartet for 3 years. She loved to sing in the choir and wrote many beautiful songs and poems which some were published. She published 2 editions of her book “My life on Browder farm.” She will be sadly missed by her family & friends. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 Saturday June 6 at Kyker Funeral Home in Sweetwater. The funeral service will be held at North Sweetwater Baptist Church Sunday June 7th at 2:00PM. Graveside service will follow at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Don Rockholt and Rev. Jimmy Jackson Officiating. Pallbearers will be the Great-Grandsons, Barrett Parker, Jacob York, Adam York, Eric Harris, Mikey Stockton, Cotie Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Mason. www.kykerfuneralhome.com
