Shane Kevin Goldston

Shane Kevin Goldston, age 50, of 714 Ruritan Road, Harriman, and also of Knoxville, Tennessee, peacefully departed this world on July 28, 2007 at 4:35 PM. Shane suffered a massive stroke at his Mother’s Harriman address and never regained consciousness. Shane will be sorely missed by a host of friends, business associates and a large, loving family. Shane is greeted in Heaven by his beloved Father, Harley, who passed in 1981. He is mourned by his devoted Mother, Faye Goldston, of Harriman, as well as by his three brothers, Tommy, Jeff and Brent and sisters-in-law, Brenda, Janet and Teresa, and as well as former sisters-in-law and friends, Mischa Hallman and Mona Wright. Shane was very proud to be an Uncle to April, Roady, Brandy, Pace, Jody, Torre, Cassy, Whitney and Jill and even more thrilled to be a Great-Uncle to Ryne, Madison, Tucker, Alyssa, Garrett, Baylee and Aleena. Shane was a well-known and successful artist. He graduated from Harriman High School in 1974 and, beaming in his family’s pride, the University of Tennessee in 1980 with an advanced degree in Art. Shane won many awards for his art in Tennessee, as well as in Florida. Shane was very proud that this artistic and intellectual talent remains in the Goldston family line. He talked often of his nephew Torre’s talent in art, and was extremely proud of all his Nieces and Nephews’ academic and athletic talents. He was always more than happy to speak about Whitney Goldston’s multi-sport accomplishments, as well as Cassy’s academic achievement and Jill’s vibrant and loving personality. Shane reveled in his Great nieces and nephews’ talents and personalities as well. He was always quick to tell stories about Garrett’s latest experiences and Madison’s beauty and courage. He was proud of Ryne and Tucker’s skills with baseball and academic achievements. Alyssa and Baylee touched Shane with their beauty and charm and Aleena, who Shane called “his pretty little red-haired girl”. Shane and his business partner and best friend, Waylon Lambert of Knoxville, made names for themselves as antique dealers all over the Eastern United States. Recently and regularly, their firm, Flint Gap Antiques, attended shows in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia. The pair operated a very successful E-Bay business and shipped many items all over the world as well. Mr. Shane Kevin Goldston was a unique, talented and loving individual who enjoyed life to the fullest up until the time of his unexpected death. His many friends, and most especially his family, are deeply saddened and affected by his loss, but take comfort in the fact that Shane and his dearly departed Father Harley can once again continue their famous cross-country adventures…Uninterrupted. Funeral Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman with Reverend Freeman Hicks officiating. Interment in Willard Park Cemetery will follow the service.
