Betty Lou Stafford Ayers, age 70, of Sweetwater went to serve our Lord on June 8, 2022. Born February 29, 1952 a true leap year baby having only 17 real birthdays. Betty devoted 17 years of her life to loving and caring for her clients (her special children) at the Tri County Center in Athens. Preceded in death by her parents: Amos H. and Pauline Bivens Stafford, great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Cooper Greene. Survivors include her husband of 43 years: Dewey William “Bill” Ayers, children: Mary Jane Greene (Clint), Pamela Lou McLemore (Marcus) , Dewey William (Jr) Ayers, Sally Marie Cansler (Hoss), grandchildren: Jacob Greene (Whitney) Kristen Greene, Olivia McLemore, Breanna (Bre) Huntsman (Cody), Haylee McLemore, Maverick (Ramrod) McLemore, Gracie Cansler and Lily Cansler, sister: Mary Jo Stafford Manis (Larry). The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the East Sweetwater Freewill Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 3:00P.M. with Rev. Clint Greene and Rev. Richard Tallent officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to East Sweetwater Freewill Baptist Church.
