Cora Fay Richesin, age 79, of Sweetwater, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her home. She fought the fight of cancer for over 2 years. After retiring from her one workplace Thomas and Betts of Athens, TN. Her joy and pride was working in her flower gardens of many colors. But she didn’t stop there she would go work with her sister’s Evelyn and Wilma’s flowers. They always had to be weed free. She was a long-time member of Murray’s Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents: William Estel Smith, and Margaret Elizabeth Harless Smith, sisters: Jean Marie O’Daniel, Wilma Estelle Wrinn. Survivors include her daughter: Maggie Darlene Currier, son: Dwight Boyd Richesin, grandchildren: Abby Currier, Melanie Richesin, Eli Currier, Nick Richesin, great-grandchildren: Landyn, Uriyah, Aiden, and Alaina Richesin, sister: Evelyn Elizabeth Galyon, brother: William Estel Smith Jr., nieces: Vickie Caywood, Melita Brackett, Lucinda Jiles, nephews: Clinton Galyon, James Galyon, Jeff Smith, Wendell Smith, Chris Smith, Curtis O’Daniel, several great nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Sweetwater Memory Chapel from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel with Rev. James Brown officiating. Interment 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday in the Murray’s Baptist Church Cemetery. Sweetwater Memory Chapel in charge of the arrangements. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
