Paul Joseph Ivaska

June 19, 1953 - April 18, 2022

Paul Joseph Ivaska, age 68, of Kingston, TN and Duquesne and West Mifflin, PA passed away on April 18, 2022 with his sons at his side. He was born in McKeesport hospital on June 19, 1953, one of five children of Joseph P. and Jean Marie (Brenner) Ivaska. Paul was raised in Duquesne, PA and a graduate of Duquesne High School, class of 1972. He worked at United States Steel, Duquesne Works until its closure in 1984. He then worked for Afftrex in Clairton, PA then transferred to the Kingston area in 1990. Paul worked for the government as a Senior Health Physics Technologist at the K-25 plant in Oak Ridge, TN with a Q clearance for over 30 years until cleanup was complete and he retired in 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Peter A. Ivaska (dod Jan. 20, 2022). Paul is survived by his two sons Bryan Paul and Shawn Patrick both of Kingston, TN. Sisters Lynn N. (Tom) Kostelnik and Geri Ivaska of West Mifflin, Pa and Cynthia Jean Ivaska of McKeesport, PA. Former wife Cynthia L. Ivaska of Munhall, PA and many nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Paul loved to golf and was good at it. He was in many golf tournaments and Golf Benefits for many years. He taught Shawn how to play but not well enough to beat him! Other favorites of Paul’s were going to casinos, scratching off lottery tickets, especially with Bryan, keeping his cars clean and eating the stuffed cabbage’s that his brother-in-law Tom made for him. He also loved going to the IVASKA family reunions in Pennsylvania every year and was a passionate Steelers Fan. A memorial service and celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date.
