In Loving Memory of Alvin Herman Dawson Alvin Herman Dawson passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Alvin was the owner of Dawson's Body Shop and formerly worked at Langdale Forest Products. Although he took great pride in his work, his greatest passion was farming. He found peace in working the land, caring for his farm, and sharing that love with others. His strong work ethic, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him the respect and friendship of everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Calvin Michael Dawson; his parents, Arrants "Black John" Dawson and Edna Mildred Dawson; his brothers, Bill Dawson and Dean Dawson; and his sister, Linda Alexander. Alvin is survived by his devoted wife, Remona "Neesie" (Hafley) Dawson; his children, Lucresia Denson, Deborah Dawson and her husband, Edward, and William Goodman and his wife, Mitzi; his sisters, Betty Jean Cardin and Karen Dawson; his cherished grandchildren, Lyndsey Womac, Jesse Goodman, Hunter Womac, Edorah Dawson, Zyler Goodman, and Kylee Goodman; many beloved great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and countless extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Throughout his life, Alvin was blessed with many meaningful friendships. He especially treasured the years he spent farming alongside David McCosh and Fred Tilley. He also held a special place in his heart for Grace Vance, who became like a second mother to him and remained a constant source of love, encouragement, and support throughout his life. Alvin will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, kind heart, and deep love for his family. Whether he was repairing a vehicle, working in the fields, or simply spending time with the people he loved, he lived with humility, integrity, and compassion. His legacy will live on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
