Essie Elnora Fridley

Fridley, Essie Elnora, age 94 of Sweetwater, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 11, 2016. She attended Outpost Mission Church for many years before started to decline in health. Essie (MeMe) was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with, giving words of love and wisdom. She had many talents including, Sunday school teacher, playing the piano, painting, quilting, manufacturing employee, and care giver just to mention a few. Three of her last wishes were to see her loved one more time; for them to know that she loved them, wanting them to be alright, and was looking forward to seeing them in heaven. She leaves us with a life time of memories, love and wisdom that will live on as long as we live. Essie was proceeded in death by her parents: Willard Clarence & Flora Coker Rutherford, brothers: Elmer Clifton and Lonnie Cecil Rutherford, sister; Juanita Gee, Husband; James Granville Fridley, son; James Allen & wife Juna Pauline Fridley, granddaughter; Tracey Reneé Goedken, great great granddaughter Navaeh Faith Smallwood. She is survived by her son Charles Willard and wife Gail Taylor , grandchildren: Yvette and spouse James Nix, Katrina Neuhart, Cindy & spouse Nathan Bowers, Patrick, Samuel, Mitchael and wife Tabbatha Smallwood, twenty great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren; sisters from Knox county; Trula Lester Lumpkin, Janice and spouse J.C. Miller, Phyllis and spouse John Tallent; several nieces and nephews. Lots of friends of whom all were special to her. A sincere heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sigrid Johnson and staff, and all the staff at Amedisys Hospice with honorary mentions: Vickey Lester-nurse, Lisa Eubanks and Lakin King-CNA’s, Martha Dodge-Volunteer Coordinator, volunteers- Gae Payne, Greer Healtherly, Barbara, Jefferson Sledge-Chaplain. You all were a God sent. Kyker Funeral Homes in Sweetwater in charge of services. Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a celebration of life service to follow in Kyker’s Chapel.
