Kenneth Edward "Kenny" Archer Jr.

Kenneth Edward “Kenny” Archer, Jr., age 68, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, entered the gates of heaven surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, April 10, 2026. He was born on October 8, 1957, in Athens, Tennessee. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elaine Archer; his daughter, Lindsey; his son-in-law, Brandon; his grandchildren, Quinn and Archer, who were the light of his life; brother, Gary Archer, and sister, Lisa Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Edward Archer, Sr. and Sarah Archer. Kenny graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 1980, where he met the love of his life, Elaine. Following graduation, he returned home to Sweetwater to join his father at Archers Family Pharmacy and Total Home Healthcare where he was a pharmacist and owner for over 30 years. He was widely respected for going above and beyond the call of duty, often opening his pharmacy in the middle of the night to ensure patients received the care they needed. His compassion and commitment left a lasting legacy, including his involvement with individuals struggling with addiction through the Tennessee Pharmacist Recovery Network, where he impacted countless lives. Beyond his professional work, Kenny remained deeply engaged in his community throughout his life. Most recently, he served on the Sweetwater Hospital Association Board of Directors, where his leadership, wisdom, and dedication continued to benefit the community he loved. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, he served as a deacon and lived out his faith through service, kindness, and generosity. In retirement, Kenny enjoyed his many passions, including golfing, scuba diving, photography, traveling the world, and attending Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball games. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren, Quinn and Archer, whom he adored beyond measure. Kenny will be remembered for his servant’s heart, his unwavering dedication to others, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and community. His life reflected his faith, and his family finds comfort in knowing he has heard the words, “well done, good and faithful servant,” as he entered into the joy of his Lord. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, 303 Wright St., Sweetwater, TN 37874, with a service to follow, officiated by Dr. Leonard Markham and Rev. Jason Pounds. Burial will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sweetwater Memorial Park.
