Kerry Darnell "John Collier

Kerry Darnell “John” Collier was born on April 10, 1965 to Mr. James Clifford Collier and Sallie Mae Collier in Harriman, Tennessee. Kerry was employed for thirty-one years at Hussman Refrigeration where he made quite a few friends of which he was fond of, including, Brenda Burney, Alan Knox, Nader Jaouni and Randy Galati. Kerry was a member of the United Steelworkers Union under the direction of Ron King while employed at Hussman. Kerry was full of life and had quite a bit of humor; some of his quotes and quirks were: “no one took the initiative to pick up the Santa and reindeer off the lawn”; “why is it so hot in the house, Loni, you have it on hell”; “I will call you when I am done at the gym and then you text me the grocery list”; “I love you a little, I love you a lot, I love you no matter what” and “there the rub”. He was known for leaving the iron on these clothes and walking away; turning on every TV in the house with the volume up to 75 or more. Kerry grew up loving and playing baseball and football. He also enjoyed roller skating. Kerry enjoyed working out several times a week and he always stated he needed to stay fit for his children, especially his special needs son. Over time, he mentored, instructed, and encouraged young men in physical fitness. Kerry was preceded in death by his father, James Clifford Collier; his grandparents, Willie and Velma Gordon; his sister Clifredia Collier Eskridge; his brothers, James D. Collier and Ronald D. Collier; and his best friend~ Damon (Quohonna “Candi”) Cobb of St. Louis, Missouri. Kerry is survived by his loving wife and best friend of thirty-two years~ Yolanda Marie Crosswhite; his five children~ Kesha (Cory) Dryman of Kingston, Tennessee, Ashia (Matt) Galati of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jasmine Fuqua of Harriman, Tennessee, Alexis Rene and Joshua James Collier of St. Louis, Missouri; a loving and caring mother~ Sallie Mae Gordon Collier; brothers~ Lt. Col. Ewing L. Collier, Chris Stone and Terrence Collier; five sister~ Cynthia Collier Bowen, Deidre (Stewart) Silar, Tabitha (Ron) Cox, Sandra Sheets and Karen Walker “Kerry’s Twin Sister”; two aunts~ Willene Griffin and Carolyn Phillips of Harriman, Tennessee; three uncles~ Gene (Carolyn) Gordon, Vance Gordon and Tony Gordon of Harriman, Tennessee; one grandmother~ Lucille Gordon; one great aunt~ Janie Clemons of Harriman, Tennessee; three grandchildren~ Jayden and Mylah Dryman of Kingston, Tennessee and Giovanni Galati of Las Vegas, Nevada; father-in-law ~Dwight (Donna) Crosswhite of Overland Park, Kansas; mother-in-law~ Mary (Donald) Cleveland of Cleveland, Tennessee; three sisters-in-law~ Veta Crosswhite of St. Louis, Missouri, Shanel Crosswhite of Overland Park, Kansas, and Susie Collier of Tennessee; two brothers-in- law~ Steve Crosswhite of Murfresboro, Tennessee and Dwight Crosswhite of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one childhood best friend~ Aaron Harkness of Harriman, Tennessee. Homegoing service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 with interment to follow in Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to service.
