Larinda Kerr Jago

Larinda Kerr Jago, 69, of Kingston, TN passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, after a short illness. Larinda was born to the late Johnny and Josephine Kerr on May 18, 1948, in Loudon, TN. Larinda grew up in Alcoa, TN, and attended Everett High School, graduating in 1966. Larinda attended Knoxville Business College and was an administrative assistant at the Oak Ridge Y-12 National Security Complex, until her retirement. Larinda was an active member of the Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston, TN. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Larinda always had a warm welcome and love for family and friends and strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, reading, and staying busy with church activities and events with family and friends, especially time spent with her great grandchildren and grandnephew and niece. Larinda was preceded in death by her husband, William R. (Bill) Jago of Kingston, TN and brother-in-law Donald Phelps of Maryville, TN. Larinda is survived by her sister Lavonda Phelps of Maryville, TN. She is survived by stepchildren Kevin (and Robin) Jago of Kingston; and stepdaughters Toni Jago of Knoxville and Dana (and Chris) Springer of Oliver Springs. Larinda is also survived by nephew Donald L. (Lynn) and Erin Phelps, Jr., of Maryville, TN. She is also survived by granddaughters Kelly and Alix Jago of Kingston, as well as, great grandchildren Conner and Cady Tye of Kingston and grandnephew and niece (Brayden and Kinsley Phelps) of Maryville, all of whom she loved as grandchildren. The family expresses its love and gratitude to Mike and Nina Cox of Kingston, Christi Welch of Kingston, and Sue Lynn Johnson of Kingston for their friendship and prayers. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston, TN, with a Celebration of Life service following with Reverends Todd Chancey and Sue Lynn Johnson presiding. A burial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday July 7, 2017, at the Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in memoriam to the American Cancer Society. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of arrangements.
