Riley Hall Exum

Riley Hall Exum, 59, of Sweetwater left this earth for his Heavenly home on February 27, 2016. He was at home lovingly surrounded by his family. Riley was owner of Wright Hardware and Sweetwater Security. Riley was an avid boater and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Athens, TN. Riley was a member of the Catholic Fraternal Service Organization, The Knights of Columbus Council #8396. He formerly served on the United Way Board of Monroe County, and he was a Troop Committee Member of Boy Scout Troop 98. Riley was instrumental in building the playground at Sweetwater Elementary School. He enjoyed his time coaching softball and soccer. Riley was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Exum, Jr.; sister, Joyce Exum Olson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Maryann and John Shiff of Clarkston, MI; grandparents, Raymond & Mamie Hall Exum of Chattanooga, TN and Gladys and G.E. Inman of Cleveland, Ohio. Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 36 years, Debra (Debbie) Exum; of Sweetwater, mother, Ann Inman Exum; of Sweetwater, two sons, Andrew (Sarah) Exum of Arlington, TN, Joseph (Heather) Exum of Lenoir City, TN; daughter, Ashley (Douglas) Loomis of Dacula, GA; beloved grandchildren, Mary Katherine and Jack Loomis, Sean and Catherine Exum; brother J. Scott (Carol Ann) Exum of Escondido, CA; sister, Jennifer (Steve) MacKenzie of Stonington, CT; brothers-in-law, James (Julie) Shiff of Grafton, WI, John Michael Shiff of Euless, TX, Dean (Kelly) Shiff of Oxford, MI, sister-in-law Kathy (John) Brenner of Eden, NY; nieces and nephews, Annie and Megan MacKenzie, Gena Murphy, Matt and Aaron Olson, Dillon and Abbie Shiff, David, Lauren, Anna and Emily Brenner, Samantha and Jacob Shiff, Alicia, Ethan and Noel Shiff. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. , at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater The Knights of Columbus will lead the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1291 E. Madison Avenue, Athens, TN 37303, with Father: Randy Stice officiating.
